This pattern is a tribute to my friend, who has chosen to become a domestic violence activist as a way to grieve the loss of her daughter. The husband goes on trial Sept 30, 2014.
I chose “Spring Fling” in a thistle pattern, since mom has always been a bright and vibrant individual, even through this trial. I also used the thistles to represent not only are we stronger than most of us think we are, but we can blossom even in the most difficult of situations.
And I chose purple because it is the domestic violence awareness color. The stitch is forget - me - not, interspersed with butterflies for hope.
