Wamparina pattern is in spanish

Hi Everyone.
I have one question on the  pattern that i just cant quite understand maybe someone might be able to help me out.
Its for the Wamparina pattern  and  for the  Brazos Question
ON  4th row. States  1 punto pina de 4 varetas, 17mp  > as i understand   MP means Single crochet. and  NO clue what **1 punto pina de 4 varetas** mean can some one please translate this for me into USA crochet terms.  Thank You.

"Punto piña" is actually a bobble stitch:

It literally translates to "pineapple stitch" but that is a completely different stitch in English. In this case its a bobble stitch with 4 dc.

Hello,

Punto vareta is a doble crochet, so you have to do "1 punto piña" of 4 dc. And mp is "medio punto", means single crochet as you guessed.
I have found this picture of "punto piña de 2 varetas", hope this can help you with your pattern.

I guess it is one pineaplle stitch (made with 4 doble crochet stitches).
