How to edit a thread

Id like to modify thread that I have already published.
Ive done it already but I dont know if it is the correct way.

If you post a thread, and click on save, then is posted, you see you made a mistake in the tekst, scroll down till you see edit, click on it, change it and on save. Then the tread is posted, but before you click on save you see above the additional options if you click on this you can remove your thread. If you wait to long you cant remove your thread anymore, it can be within a hour.

thank you Sylvana for your answer. Sorry, but it is not clear to me yet. After having saved and waited more than 1 hour I have no more possibility to modify my post. Is it right?
