How do you organise your threads ?

I am trying to find the best for DMC and hand dyed threads... any suggestion ?

I think the storage of threads on cardboard reels is the best option

I organize mine as I buy them by number.  One baggie contains the thread numbers 100 to 199;  the next 200 to 299 etc.  Many years ago I would  put them on cardboard and sorted them by colour, but picking a number but not knowing the colour made it harder to find the threads needed in the case and the cardboard kinked my thread which I found annoying.  So I changed my strategy to keeping them as is by number in pouches labelled with the number.
