This pattern was originally designed to do something special with a long gradient yarn. In this case, it was the red/green Crazy Zauberball.
While long gradient yarns used like this can be a bit frustrating when colours blend into each other, they are often surprising and very ‘more-ish’ when the yarn works its magic.
For an equally stunning, but safer result, combine a gradient with a solid, or use two contrasting yarns. In that case two 50 gram skeins are enough to make a large pair of socks
