Hi,
Does anybody remember embroidering their denim shirts back in the day?  My daughter wants to embroider a shirt and I just dont remember how we did it!  Ive been finding lots of instructions and youtube videos about embroidered t-shirts but thats not what Im looking for!  She has just a basic cotton shirt.  So, do you use an interfacing?  Do you stitch first and then put on the interface? Or do you apply interfacing and stitch through it?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I would apply the interfacing and stitch through it to keep the fabric from puckering.

There is a specific fabric called waste canvas that you would put on the shirt first and stitch on to keep your stitches, if cross stitch, consistent. Once youre finished stitching you pull the threads of the canvas away and the cross stitches stay.
