DMC Kit - How long are the lengths?

Hi, I have a chart (only) from a DMC counted cross stitch kit. The key indicates how many lengths are provided for each colour but it does not specify how long each length is and I have been unable to find out this information. Does anyone know how long a standard length is for DMC? Many thanks in advance for your help!

If you are trying to figure out how much floss you will need to finish your stitch I would say buy one skein of each colour. When kitted DMC is typically 1 strand, 36 inches in length and when folded in half to do the loop start that then becomes 18 inches. I have a kit that has the floss and I measured it. You are correct in thinking that the number refers to the number of precut lengths. DMC kits typically come with precut lengths, like you say. Its not about the number of skeins.

The length of these lenghts may however vary by design in my experience (having bought several DMC kits in my time), so it isnt neccessarily easy to pinpoint exactly how many skeins 11 lenghts would be.

What is the name of the design? If the pattern has been "repainted", it should be possible to find out how many skeins are needed from the details of the repaint

If so, Im positive you can go with Duckeyds advice on lengths. Designs of that size would normally come with lengths of about 36 inches (approx. 90 centimetres). Some smaller designs may come with shorter lengths (to save DMC some thread, surely), which is why I wasnt sure. I downloaded the chart and had a look, and it seems DMC 3371 would be the only one you need two skeins of. For all the others one skein should be enough.

Small chart you have enough at DMC colours 4 meter, but you have also 8 meter. Where is it stitched on Aida or something else, but mosly you have enough 4 meter of the colours.

Hi thanks for replying. I dont think the word "length" used in this key, is used to refer to the length of the skein (8 metres) as one colour has 11 lengths, and it seems very unrealistic to be 11 skeins. So im guessing its referring to the length of the supplied pre-cut six-strand thread instead.
