HooksNTails - Jen Tyler - Hibiscus Tea Floral Block

I am so excited to announce that the next floral block, The Hibiscus Tea Block (part two of our High Tea theme ) is released as an MMAL ( Mystery-Make-A-Long ).

As always, the pattern will include detailed Videos throughout

Part 1: Rnds 1 to 25 ( 10 May )
Part 2: Rnds 26 to 46 ( 24 May )

The Hibiscus Tea Block is the second block in the High Tea “ mix and match” series. As with High Tea, we’ll first make the block, then we’ll make the extension. Now you will have 2 x Blocks and 2 x Extensions to mix and match. Once we have completed all four blocks and all four extensions you will have the option to create 16 x mix and match Throws!

Once each Block and Extension is completed I will be offering the complete Throw pattern here on Ravelry, especially for those of you who don’t want to do the mix and match thing.

For this Block, I will be using Stylecraft Special DK throughout. The yarn amounts here are for the Block only. I will note additional yarn amounts once the Extension is complete.

1 x Boysenberry 1828 or Pomegranate 1083 or Raspberry 1023
1 x Apricot 1026
2 x Graphite 1063
1 x Saffron 1081
1 x Pale Rose 1080 or Stone 1710
1 x Clematis 1390
1 x Lime 1712
1 x Mustard 1823
1 x Vintage Peach 1823
1 x Gold 1709
1 x Grape 1067
1 x Duck Egg 1820

Please check back here as we go along, as I’ll add extra information about colours ( additional colours depending on availability in my corner of Africa! ).

CORRECTIONS AND UPDATES

• PART ONE: Rnd 8. Work 6 dc’s into ch6 “loop”, not hdcs. But if you worked hdcs, not a problem. Rnd 9: work 6 x “Bead” stitches ( not 8 ).
• PART ONE: Video Rnds 1 to 9. Possible sound problems ( if you are using headphones ) from 28m to 39m. I have a replacement Video if this is a problem for you.
• PART ONE: Rnd 25. Final stitch count is 128 hdcs.
• PART TWO: Rnd 35. I say work over 3dctog but of course, we are working over the previous 4dctogs.
• [Final Rnd 49 / Raspberry. This is the “finishing off” colour ONLY IF YOU DO NOT CONTINUE TO THE EXTENSION. If you are planning on making the Extension then continue with the same colour you used for Rnd 4
