Hopefully someone can help me here, because I feel like a doofus and Im sure Im missing something super basic - but can anyone recommend an app to open the .xsd file format? Ive usually just used PCstitch but it cant use the .xsd file. Ive tried explorer and notepad, no cigar.

Can others share what they use?

Thanks for any help!

pattern-maker-for-cross-stitch.software.informer.com/download/

There is another thread which has the install package as a purchasable .zip - which is in russian, and a bit larger, but for those who want a smaller and direct download, Ive listed the link above. As a side note, Hobbyware, the dev company behind Pattern Maker, have closed down as of end of 2019, so its a good idea to keep a copy of your install file safe, just in case.

It seems the more technology progresses, the less there is out there.  I no longer have printer even.  Next computer upgrade I will not have cd drive too.  I wish to go backwards. :)
