Does Uploading Patterns Earn Points?

Its me again, lol. I have more questions. If we upload patterns do we earn points? Do the patterns HAVE to be requests from the Bounty area? Of course I would do a search as well to make sure I dont upload duplicates. And Im finding confusing information about the upload process. Im unclear of where, and maybe even how (correct procedure). Thank you to anyone who helps clear my muddy waters, lol.
