How did you start needlework?

I wonder how your embroidery / knitting adventure started? Teached you a grandmother / mother / sister? Maybe school activities? I know the basic knitting from school with a crochet hook, while the basics of embroidery accidentally I saw on the internet a few years ago and I fall in love :)  how was it with you? Tell us!

My mum taught me how to knit when i was little and a few years ago she taught me crochet, i saw that you could use basic cross stitch patterns to make a c2c blanket, and from there i sas all these beautiful finished cross stitch pieces and fell in love!
