About pattern CONSTRUCTION Dione is worked seamlessly from the top down. The upper stockinette part of the yoke is shaped using short rows to raise the back of the neck. The contiguous set-in sleeve method is used to further shape the yoke and the sleeve caps. Once the stockinette portion is finished, the yoke is set aside. Stitches for the ribbing around the shoulders are cast on using a tubular cast on. After a few centimeters/inches of 1x1 rib, the ribbing is attached to the upper yoke by knitting both together. From here on a cable pattern is worked on the front, back and sleeves. One of the striking design features of this sweater is the densely cabled front and back. To ensure every size has the same feeling esthetically speaking, the cable pattern varies over sizes. After completing the yoke, sleeve stitches are placed on hold to work the body first. The body can be worked straight down, but an option for slight V-shaping is given as well. Once the body is finished, sleeve stitches are picked up again to work the sleeves top down to the folded cuffs. For finishing of the neckline, stitches are picked up and bound off using an i-cord bind off.
