Talida is a large & cosy rectangular wrap, worked from edge to edge with beautiful cables and an optional fading colourplay.
With this design, I wanted to create a piece that really highlights the beauty of fading colourways, as well as something that I could easily reach for and wear everyday. So I played with some clean, eye-catching geometric cable and rib motifs, which gently underline the gradient colour changes and guide the eye through the pattern.
The design also provides enough textural interest, so it would look wonderful in just a single colour, too.
It’s fun and engaging knitting with a subtle, everyday elegance as a result.
This pattern was designed in collaboration with Samelin and I had the pleasure to work with her fantastic MSC Sock base in the most gorgeous Faded Roses set for my sample. And to celebrate this pattern release, Melinda has dyed some more beautiful Fade Sets for you that you can find in her Etsy shop!
Multiple sections with cables and alternating ribbed parts keep your interest during this knit. The finished shawl will add a beautiful, eye-catching item to your favourite wardrobe staple.
Fully written row-by-row as well as charted instructions are provided so you can choose which you prefer to work from.
I hope you enjoy the pattern!

SIZE OF SAMPLE
length: 200 cm / 78.75“
width: 50 cm / 19.75“

Designed for approx. 2000 m / 2185 yds of fingering weight yarn held double (or approx. 1000 m / 1093 yds of a sport to dk weight yarn that gives you the same gauge). The pattern is easily adjustable for other yarn weights and/ or yardages. It can be worked in a gradient set as shown or in a single colour.

Samelin Dyeworks MSC Sock (fingering weight, 100g = 400 m / 437 yds), 1 gradient set containing 5 full skeins in colourway “Faded Roses” (worked using the yarn held double!)
GAUGE & NEEDLES
Not critical for this project but differences will affect yardage requirements and the finished size.

Needles used for sample: 4 mm / US 6
