Why and how you all started crocheting? What do you like the most?

Hi, I learned myself to crochet at the age of 50 years. And now Im crochetting everyday, but only amigurumi things, no clothes or anything else

Started about 8 years a ago. Stopped for a few years then picked up my hooks again to make amigurumi ...realised I also love buying new yarn and hoarding that aswell

I was already knitting and cross-stitching, and I wanted to learn something new! I saw all those pretty amigurumi dolls so I wanted to try! I learned on the internet, by watching tutorial videos. The fun fact is that I learned in english, although Im french, and so I absolutely cant understand a french pattern :o
Like DiX already said, there is so much more possibilities and freedom with a crochet hook than with knitting needles :D

I learned myself in childhood. Why? Its much easier to bring one small crochet than 2 long needles :D And the most of all I like that its possible to crochet different shapes without breaking the thread.

My mum taught me to crochet when I was very little about 7. I especially like to crochet with thread.

Thank you for answering. You are very nice. My mum taught me how to crochet and to knit when I was little because I wanted to make new clothes for my lovely dolls. When I grew up I started doing them for me and my children. I started to do amigurumi by watching YouTube tutorials and now Im teaching my mum how to make them :loveliness:
