Here is my rainbow turtle that I made :)
I found this pattern in one of my magazines but cannot remember what magazine it was off the top of my head. But I do know that it was originally made with 3 different colours but after looking at the pattern I decided that I was going to challenge myself and do it with the 6 shades of the rainbow!
It was a difficult task and resulted in quite a few holes and stretches between each colour change but I stuck with it and continued with it and wanted to finish it and considering I was still fairly new to knitting at this point I didnt do too bad. I feel the arms and legs and head couldve been done better but it was a first attempt and I know now that there are other ways of making something more rounded by changing the way I either cast on or cast off.. Same with the eyes I cannot french knot I couldnt even do it when I cross stitch lol so it is something I can learn on, or just use saftey eyes...
Oooh, wonderful finish! Try the colonial knot instead of the french knot; so much easier to do and looks roughly the same. I found the trick of the french knot is to take the thread around the needle only one way.......if you make it the other it pulls through. Still prefer the colonial though.
