Yes, this could be a mason jar or just a regular glass jar.
Mason jars are used to preserve food in after cooking.
Did you use a mason jar? It depends on the lid that needs to be with it.
Many times the lid consists of 2 pieces.
They are very popular among crafters and very useful to turn into a jar with a pincushion on top, for example.
