The Elemental Cowl is an easy, basic cowl pattern for a piece that you can wear with any style of coat or jacket without taking away from your outfit. I wear this cowl all winter long and love the shape that contours to your body. The neck opening at the top is fitted, while the opposite end that rests on your shoulders is wider to accommodate space for the shoulders.
This cowl is a free, beginner-friendly pattern using only single crochet stitches worked in the back loops. It is worked in joined rounds so no seaming is required. The only technique required is foundation single crochet, and a tutorial is linked if you need help with this. An alternate method is also included if you prefer just regular chains and single crochets opposed to foundation stitches.
To make this cowl, you will need 2 hanks of Swish Bulky, or 240 yds of any bulky weight yarn.
