Skill Level: Advanced Beginner (Requires knowledge of sc, hdc and dc sts). Pattern is written using
US crochet terminology.
Size: One size fits most. Scarf measures 33” long (not counting button bands and fringe), 8” wide at
wide section, and 4.5” wide at narrow section. Button bands each measure 8” long and 1.25” wide.
Fringe measures 7.5” long.
Gauge: 12 dc with K hook = 5”, and 4 rows of dc = just over 3” long.
Tools:
-Hook: Sizes K/10.5 (6.5mm) and H/8 (5mm), or size to obtain correct gauge.
-Yarn needle
-Tape measure
Materials:
-A total of approximately 205-220 yards heavy worsted or Aran weight yarn. Example uses
Malabrigo Merino Worsted in Pearl. I used less than one skein (205 yards) for my scarf, but you may
find you need a bit extra for the fringe, so it’s best to overestimate the amount you’ll need. If you
are tall or have a larger bust size, you may need to make your scarf longer, so you may need extra
yarn.
-2 buttons (1.25”)
