Yarn name for Aradiya Toys or for small amigurumis

I am from Costa Rica and I have issues finding the perfect yarn.

Actually I buy from stores in US, and pay a courier to bring to my country. Actually I buy yarns from Yarnspiration, amazon or Joanns.

But I dont know which one (as brands) works with their projects. I want to create a Mario, I bought Paton, Bernat and Caron yarn ... but I dont like the texture and the size. (CARON is 4 SIZE)

I tried to find Sport type but maybe I am looking wrong because usually I dont find enough variety of colours. Thats why I ended buy those brands

Any suggestion  how to find right yarn? Brands? Good prices from Online Stores?

Google - Yarnsub -  I find it useful when I have to substitute a yarn.  Very useful site because I am not in US or UK so I have to find the right yarn to use that is available in my country.  Many stores world wide have different prices and sales so find the yarn you would like to use and then Google for best prices available.  Also look for free shipping.

She actually uses Schachenmayr Catania, an European brand, which is a Sport weight yarn, and widely available (I believe from the US too) or Kirov Yarn Mills Iris, a Russian brand, which is a lace weight one. Check mybobbin, Amazon, Etsy or eBay, there should be listings for both.
