Cannot read my bounty replies

I have placed a bounty, but it says that only the author can read the replies. How can I see if someone has fulfilled it then ?

Short answer: you cant.

Long answer: This setting is to maintain a level of privacy, and it was introduced quite a while ago. And actually, most of the replies under bounties are "thanks for sharing", which makes a lot of sense (sorry for being sarcastic), or "good luck", which are completely irrelevant for your quest of finding an elusive pattern. Besides, a lot of people upload something then reply to the bounty thread, and during the moderating, it turns out to be incomplete/unreadable/was done by google translate/etc. If you set these as the best reply before it actually got moderated then youve lost all the gold that you spent on making the bounty thread, and ending up not having the pattern, and someone ends up getting a lot of gc without actually contributing anything. But be assured, as we moderate the threads, we see if theres a bounty for a specific pattern, and we immediately send a notice to the moderator responsible for the bounties, who can set the bounty to completed. In this case, the system will send you a notice that your bounty got fulfilled. Please note that there might be a delay, because as far as I know, the uploader has to reply to the bounty thread in order to fulfill it.

So the whole process goes like this (again, as far as I know, dont quote me):

• A user uploads something for a bounty
• We moderate the thread. As we check for duplicates, well see if theres a bounty thread
• If the thread passes moderation, we drop a message to a fellow moderator, who deals with the bounties (most of us dont have the permission level to do that, so in case anyone reading this planned to do it: please dont message us with "I fulfilled a bounty, wheres my gold?" unless its absolutely necessary)
• The moderator with access to bounties checks both links, and checks if the user replied to the thread. Its very important to do so, because to resolve a bounty thread either there has to be a best answer selected (and that answer will rewarded with the gold offered by the bounty owner), or the thread to be recycled.
• If the user replied, then that reply will be selected, and youll get the notice that your bounty is fulfilled. If not, the moderator will send a PM to the user asking them to reply, and once the reply is there, the bounty would be fulfilled.

I have seen that the pattern (Better Homes and Gardens - Keepsake Cross-Stitch Calendar 2002) I was looking for is currently sitting in the "Post new thread (All Book Resources Patterns Magazine)" category. I just havent done a bounty request for a long time, so I wasnt sure what was happening :)
