To have a cross stitch piece fitting into an interior you sort of follow these steps:
- Think what style image you want: e.g. fruit? landscape? straight funky lines+dots?
- Do you want that image to be all mint coloured? Or just a few details in the same colour? Or all kind of shades in your mint colour?
- Do you want that background canvas in mint or just the stitches on it in mint?
- You can design the outcome of the steps above yourself or find a kind of pattern you like and adjust (some of) the colours in it to mint.
If you say mint, others can experience such a colour as grass green or perhaps olive green. (I think mint is the colour of green ice cream for example:D)
So be very sure about what you call mint.
You have to find a floss (DMC, Anchor, whatever sort) to take to your kitchen first and make an exact match.
The Madeira brand floss has sometimes better matches in nature colours like browns and greens than other brands.
If you cannot find a perfect colour match think of blending a few threads that are about the same colour: 1 strand of each colour.
Just play with it and try cross stitching a test piece and hang that up in the kitchen so have daylight on it and lamplight at night.
Good luck!
