My daily tasks are no longer working, and also not being allowed to download certain patters.

It would be much better if 1. you describe your problem with tasks. As for now, Id suggest to check Awaiting Tasks, they might be hiding there.
                                  2. you describe the problem with the patterns as well + post the links. I assume that you cant download them because of your level. Sometimes you have to be level 2 to be able to download them. Or you are trying download the patterns in the Recycle area. They are not available to anyone.

Check you GC balance and level.  Make sure you have enough GC and are leveled up to buy the pattern

When I click on the daily tasks it tells me I have to sign up for email. I sign up for email but it never sends the verification email and i cannot participate in the hourly tasks.

Did you put the two email addresses on the whitelist? Theyre listed here and here. Without allowing these addresses, you most likely wont receive the verification.

You might have enough coins, but as a Level 1, you might not be able to buy the pattern you want.  Some patterns require you to be upper levels to buy.
