The download was only of the picture, not a cross stitch design. Is that all it is supposed to be?

Ok, downloaded both and now neither file will open!!!! Adobe Photoshop says the file is bad or corrupted, and GIMP says it is unable to open the file. WHYYYYYYYY

i finally got it to download right! ising PC Stitch software. what size is the finished product? i know it says 18" on the pattern sheet but i know the dimensions kits all say 16" long. anyone actually complete it who could say?
