The pattern is worked flat in one piece and then the sides are being sewn together.
The body is crocheted with the alternating spike stitch to create a sturdy fabric and the cover adds more texture with the beautiful shells dotted with colorful pearls-like stitches.
I made the bag with a metal chain strap, but you can use a fabric strap or crochet a strap, and even use it without one. The bag is comfortable and light, but big enough for your purse and cellphone.
The final dimensions of the bag are 10x6.5 in (26x17 cm). Skill Level - intermediate.
The pattern is written using English (U.S) terminology.
The bag is crocheted with DK yarn:
I used Knit PIcks - CotLin (50gr - 112m/123yd):
Color A - 150 gr (336m/369yds) Sagebrush
Color B - 10 gr (22m/25yds) Linen
Color C - 10 gr (22m/25yds) Flamingo ** You can use any 100% cotton or cotton blend DK yarn.
You would also need a 32’’ (80cm) metal or fabric bag strap with clips.
