Ive used (and am still using) an old .pat program from the 1990s, which is DMC only but allows me to rename colours.  Recently Ive been uploading my own repaints and use PCS10 for jpeg virtual images of the pattern, but Ive noticed when I open my .pat in PCS10 all my non-DMC info (eg blending filament, braid, overdyed floss) has been converted to DMC.  My pattern uploads are still the old .pat, but does anyone know if renamed colours can still be seen?

You can find PCStitch program on here in the Cross Stitch Software section, then your repaints would be in PCStitch with colors listed correctly and useful to all members :)

Thank you Fox01, but the software Ive always used is not PCS.  It is DMC Cross Stitch Pattern Designer and so only has DMC colours.   I can rename entries, and that works on my print outs.  So I guess any patterns Ive uploaded with renamed colours are useless.
