Kaga”, flower bud in Japanese, is a V-neck pullover with hi-lo slit hem, Kaga Cardigan and Kaga Shawl are sister designs.  First, the right and left saddle shoulder panels are worked separately with Kaga pattern, then stitches are picked up for the back and front along the panel edges. German short rows are used to shape the shoulders, then the front and back of the pullover are worked back and forth separately to the underarm. They are joined to be worked in the round in one piece, then Kaga pattern is worked over the lower body. The hems are split and worked back and forth. Sleeves are worked top down in the round after the body is finished, with Kaga pattern running down from the shoulder saddles.
