The cowl is knitted in tubular from a provisional cast on in the round. Also, a provisional bind off is needed to
block it in flat. When it’s dry the ends meet and are sewn with a kitchener stitch.
The Mediterranean Cowl is inspired by the Mediterranean Sea I saw every day as a
child. I lived in a small town on the Catalan coast and we spent a lot of time on the
seafront every month of the year.
The neck is divided into sections and each of them evokes me a state of that immense
sea with its own life that I carry in my heart.
The absolutely calmed water that I saw while making sandcastles (sections 1 and
7), go skating along the promenade and see the rough sea with different strength
crashing against the practically disappeared breakwaters (sections 2, 4 and 6),
playing jump the foam of the water in the breakwater (section 5) or the enjoyment of
sitting in the sand to contemplate the wild sea that reflected the suns rays (section
3).
