Making a “collections‘

I noticed that at the bottom of a chart for sale it will have a section that says “related collections”. Now the questions begin. What are they? Who is allowed to start them? Do you have to reach a particular level? Are they for individuals or groups? Where are they kept? Who can access them? How do you access them. Are the lists specific to one person or generic group?  I’d love to be able to make lists on here of specific charts I would like to download one day. Don’t newbies drive you nuts? Until there’s a comprehensive listing of where to answer these types of questions we’re going to test the wits of long time members. My apologies in advance.

A collection is exactly that: a collection of threads. To be more precise, collections of threads users made for themselves, but they can be viewed by anyone. There could be thousands of reasons why one would start a collection, from gathering patterns of a certain language to bookmark threads for later download. It really depends on the individual.

Hover over the text "My Center" right under your avatar on the top right corner. Therell be a "Collections" tab (or you can access it from this link: https://www.pindiy.com/forum.php?mod=collection&op=my). Here You will have three more tabs, "Recommended Collections," "All Collections," and "My Collections". This last one will display all the collections youve made and subscribed to. Theres also a big blue button "Create collection" which will let you make your own collection. If that doesnt work, you can open any thread youd like and click on the "Collection" button, which will offer you to create a new one or check the existing ones youve made. Thank you so much for your help Boing Boing. It is greatly appreciated. Is there a manual that explains the functions of this site? I hate being a bother asking a million questions that have probably been asked many times by others. We’re fortunate that the moderators are available to us. Thanks again.

By golly, I think I’m starting to get a grip on this collections thing. I wouldn’t have had the nerve to just start poking around if you hadn’t given me the push, Boing Boing. Thanks for your assistance. 7,643 more topics left to figure out!:P
