FINISHED SIZE
Blanket measures 51" X 61"
MATERIALS
• Light (3) weight yarn – Knit Picks City Tweed DK (50g / 123yds per ball)
o Braided strips: Morning Glory, Jacquard, Toad, Lemon Curd, Habanero, Blue Blood, Plum
Wine – 4 balls of each color (28 balls total)
o Border Color: Tahitian Pearl – 6 balls
▪ The blanket can be made with a smaller border, if you want to purchase less
yarn. The blanket pictured used 6 balls and completed 17 rounds. The border is
a simple repeat, so you may stop after any number of rounds. To estimate how
many balls to purchase:
• 1 ball = 3 rounds on border
• 2 balls = 6 rounds
• 3 balls = 8 – 9 rounds
• 4 balls = 11 rounds
• 5 balls = 14 rounds
• 6 balls = 16 – 17 rounds
o Blanket weight (no buttons): 1,700g (approximately 4,182yds)
• Size H (5.0mm) crochet hook
• Tapestry needle
• 14 buttons – size 1 1/8” (28 mm)
o Buttons are optional. You can omit them if making the blanket for a baby or if you prefer
the blanket without buttons.
GAUGE
With an H-hook and light (3) weight yarn, follow the directions to make a braided strip. For the blanket
pictured, each braided strip measured 4 inches wide and 20 rows = 4 inches.
