Changing the pricing structure

First of all I would like to say that I appreciate the efforts that were made to control the number of gold coins that can be charged for a pattern.  It was a much needed change.
I would like to suggest a slight change though.  I think that instead of members in higher levels being allowed to charge more for patterns it should be the other way around.  Lower level members can struggle to accumulate coins and I would think that a lot of them get frustrated with the process and just leave the site.  They need the increased coins to become active participants.  Those of us who have been around for awhile seem to have accumulated more than enough coins for our needs.

We used to have to put effort into earning coins... I have always bought patterns that I was interested in to fulfill bounties & I would post new patterns I bought on here asap. But since they started making it easy to get 500 coins per day on the app it seems like there is a real decline in people posting newly-released patterns (except amigurumi, plenty of those... but other patterns, such as knit patterns, now I rarely see something new). I assume because people now dont need to post patterns or make an effort to earn coins they dont bother sharing.

When I joined the site many years ago, it was promoted as a kind and caring site to encourage others to continue to craft or learn new skills; but greed took over.  I still try and charge a low price when I do upload a chart or magazine in the
spirit of sharing.   These charts, magazines, projects, will eventually disappear, so sharing and storing here on the site, has them available for new and old members alike and for hopefully, many, many, years to come.

but you share and by sharing, increase your rewards - how does lessening rewards make sense? there are people who post useless thank you comments on every single post to get coins and may never share a single pattern - the site does not run on thank yous, it runs on people taking on risk by spending real money and sharing...

So there is still the possibility for new members to get very good and popular patterns at a low price.

Personally, I have lost the desire to even post any new patterns here.
If I want a patternl badly enough, Id rather support the designers than a website that prefers to support greed.

I believe this also.  Additionally, there shouldn’t be levels needed to view threads, or purchase patterns.  If you have the coin why restrict purchase by level.  Everything should be equal,

In response to Addison - the greed comes in when people charge wildly ridiculous prices. Remember we pay the site 30 GC for each download on top of what the poster charges. When I started with this site way back when many patterns were posted free (not that they were free to the poster, they just didnt charge for them). It takes some time and effort for a new member to get 300 + 30 GC to download a pattern or magazine. Most people cant sit at the computer all day applying hourly bonuses or posting "thank you" to those that are kind enough to upload. JMHO. Im glad they finally put a cap on it. I think what theyve done is quite fair, again, JMHO.
