Vintage Crushed Velvet Sweater #00834 - Hayfield Textiles LTD

This is a great vintage cabled pullover that used Hayfield Crushed Velvet but there are many similarly textured yarns available to replace it. Texture was basically "chenille."


Crushed velvet was 50g, 200 yards (183 meters)with a gauge of 22.0 sts = 4 inches.


Fiber content of Crushed Velvet was 79% Acrylic, 21% Nylon



Yarn Weight: DK
Yardage: 8-9 balls

Needles: 3 mm UK 11 (US 4) and 3.5 mm UK 9 (US 5)
Size: US 30/32 (76/81 cm); 34/36 (86/91 cm); 38/40 (97/102 cm)

Gauge: 24 sts and 32 rows to 10 cm (4") measured over pattern using 3.5mm (US 5)
Notions: Cable needle, stitch holders


Please keep in mind this is a vintage pattern, written for a different time so gauge is critical.

There are no cable charts (perfect for those who dislike charts).
