I would like to knit the LATU Scarf for my son-in-law for Christmas, made from 100% baby alpaca  - silvergrey - so that it is comfortable to wear in winter. The designer is casting on 48 stitches with needle N°4. My impression is that the cables make the scarf even narrower. He is a tall man (1.86m).
How many stitches would you cast on ? 48 stitches are too few for me. Thanks for any help

I would add at lest another repeat of the cable (4 stitches) + 2 purl stitches, so there are 3 cables in the middle in total. Also, I would increase the number of stiches for each cable up to 6 instead of 4. These changes would definitely make the scarf look wider.

I agree, my thoughts exactly, increase the cables to three but I think Id increase on both edges (the always knit ones) by one stitch and perhaps the stockinette on each side of the cables by one sti  Details Reply Post time 2022-8-29 13:13
