First things first, please consider that the moderating team is doing this in their free time, nobody can be here 24/7, but rest assured, all help requests and reports are monitored. Not getting a reply in a 3-hour window on a standard workday can (and most probably) will happen, no need to make multiple threads or yell about it.
Second, considering the guides were written by the moderators, I dont think theres anything extra we can add to those. Strawberry Cat already linked you this guide: https://www.pindiy.com/thread-282074-1-1.html, which is a very detailed one, using simple sentences, and its not hard follow. Literally, all steps are written down there from searching to how your thread looks like once youve submitted it, with added images, where everything is either circled or has arrows to lead you to the fields and buttons you need, there are examples given and linked too. Just open the tutorial in one tab, and the uploading page in another. I know its a very long one, but try to go step by step, carefully reading the written instructions first, then look at the pictures, and replicate everything that is written or shown on the other tab. It is for the crochet section, but all uploads go to the same place, so you can still follow the guide if you are uploading a knitting pattern, cross stitch pattern, sewing pattern, etc. but instead of choosing and filling out "Crochet info" just choose whichever is fitting your upload. Its not even a catastrophe if you dont choose any of the "info" tabs, we do not recycle threads for missing that. The most important parts are the same for every craft: giving a proper title, uploading an attachment, uploading a cover image. If you get those right, youre good.
Since you didnt give a link to your threads or their title, so we cant check what the problem was with them, so we cant give specific tips or tell the exact reasons why they got recycled. Reasons we recycle threads:
- Missing attachment - Threads without attachments are recycled without exceptions. Make sure you have attached a file before posting a thread.
- Duplicate - patterns that are already uploaded by another user before you. You have to make sure before posting that you are not posting duplicates.
- Open files - when you upload the pattern as images, so they are can be seen immediately once the thread is opened. This is not permitted, you have to put all patterns in a rar, zip or pdf.
- Incomplete pattern - If parts are missing from the pattern and the project cant be completed, then the thread will be recycled.
- Bad translation (crochet or knitting) - if a pattern is translated to another language poorly and the instructions cant be followed, then it will be recycled.
- Converted repaint (cross stitch) - repaint files (that are generated from scanned patterns and they are usually in .pat or .xsd format and can be opened by special software) converted to pdf are not permitted anywhere on the site.
- Wrong format - currently only the following formats can be directly uploaded as attachments: rar, zip, pdf, xsd, pat. While the rar/zip files can hold different fil types, the following formats are not permitted: epub, mobi, djvu, azw3, saga, xsp, oxs, sth, chart any kind of audio or video format. These will be removed from the thread, and if the attachment consists only of these files, the thread will be recycled.
- Bad quality / unreadable scan - if the pattern is of such a bad quality that its impossible to read it, it will be recycled.
- Unworkable pattern - if the pattern has such big errors in it that the project can not be completed, itll be recycled.
- Self designs / banned domains - patterns that werent published anywhere are deemed untrusted because theres no guarantee the finished project will be the same as told or the project can be finished at all. Same goes for some picture to pattern type sites and their collection of user-generated content. These will be recycled without exception.
Please post either the link to the recycled threads (starting from pindiy.com/ otherwise the system will block the link) or the exact title of your threads so we can check them and give you pointers on what can you do to avoid recycling. |
