I bought a lot of these row counters. Different. Both cheap and expensive. And I couldn’t use anything. It’s inconvenient for me, it gets in the way, it kills all the pleasure from crocheting.  In my opinion, a phone app is the best option.

I use stitch markers pin together or row counter from Knit pro

Thank you – I actually just use a free counter app on my phone (it’s called Vivid Counter for anyone who uses iOS)

I love to use it at the thumb, so it doesn't interfere with the needles or yarn. I recommend it. It's also very light weight.
