How to create crochet patterns

Hi everyone,  so Im wanting to create my own crochet patterns, does anyone have any tips

Do a lot of crovheting. Understand how to create shapes. Do sketches of what you wish to create. Im planning to start doing the same so Ill follow this path. Good luck!
