My cat got a catnip-fish: I didnt have a pattern, I just made something up. I knit a tube like a sock with the pointed toe end, stuffed a sachet with dried catnip into it and sewed it together at the open end. I embellished the thing a bit, stitched eyes on the fish and crocheted some fins :).
Cat enjoys the fish, she kicks it, sniffs it and rubs her face against it.
I seem to read your question differently than the others, do you want a knit pattern of a cat to give to a friend or for a cat toy? Adorable Knitted Animals has a very cute knit cat as does Best in Show. Sorry if I read it wrong - Ill look for some toys :-)
