No way, no!
I will invest a long time and a lot of effort knitting/crocheting a piece, and I need the pattern to be reliable.
Life is too short to knit shitty patterns!
I always browse the finished projects in ravelry and read the users notes and the comments on the pattern page.
If people are complaining, I stay away unless I know the issues will not bother me.
Some designers are terrible, and will never fix known issues with their patterns. Others are awesome and do offer support either by email or by releasing an update that fixes the issues.
