[Processing Crafts] Poppy seed sourdough

Sourdough in progress, spelt flour and poppy seed. I'm going to split it in two and bake two loaves tomorrow

Thanks, it is not 100% spelt flour I also used some high grade white flour. I only use the white flour to feed the starter. If you have a base recipe you can alter the proportions of flours as you like, I sometimes use some rye flour or wholemeal flour too. But some flours will require more water or more starter, if I use wholemeal I normally add more starter because it doesn't rise as well.

Ohh this is so awesome! I have been wanting to start a sourdough starter for so long. Is it any different when using spelt flour? Love the look of the poppy seeds :)
