This is very beautiful.  I love the celtic designs and it looks great so far.  I know how you feel about the beads.  I feel the same thing when I have to start doing them, but once its finished you will be so happy.  Please finish it and show us it to us!

I find it is a good idea to have two projects on the go.
When you start to tire of one you can pick up the other for a change.
