What to do when the site is down?

I always get anxious when the site is down. Is there somewhere else to find out if there are updates when the site itself is unaccessible?

Same for me. Even if its all virtual, I missed a lot not to greets my virtual friends, look at the new designs, compliments with the new FO. I was afraid that the side was closed and not simply down
