Has anyone had any experience with Chaigoo needles?
They seem super expensive and I dont think the price can be justified. However, Ive seen all good youtubers talk about it. Any thoughts?

I did upgrade from KnitPro/Knitters Pride to Chiaogoo and its a world of a difference.
I had been very happy with my needles, until I noticed a decline in quality, my tips got bent easily, the cables broke, detached from the connectors, yarn was snagging in the tip-cable connection, very bothersome. And they are not that cheap, so I was angry.

I do believe the right tools are important when you are doing something for a long time.

I knit for many hours straight and the Chiagoo cables and needles are very very good, seamless connection, the needles are indestructible.
But I can also tell you that it was a splurge, my Knitpro needles also worked :)

What I did was buy just one size tips and a cable, and tested them. Once I knew I liked the needles I bought the set.
Careful if buying from Amazon, there are lots of fake needles of very low quality, imitating Chiagoo, at the retail price, so you cant tell what you are getting.

If you can afford them, go for them. I am quite happy. But needles is something very personal, so they might not feel right for you.
Everyone prefers something different, steel, bamboo, wood... I personally like 10cm (4inch) steel tips.

Thanks, That really gave me clarity.

I did end up buying it from my local yarn shop (Cause there was a sale) but after coming home, when I checked online, the prices of other needle sets were so low.
I thought I was getting scammed :P
But thanks, your review really does help put things in perspective. :)

I have standard set and minis too, I love my Chiaogoos to the moon and back. I previously owned drops metal set, cheap needles from local craft store and Aliexpress, but they are no match for the Chiaogoos. I love to work with high quality tools, it gives me pleasure when even acrylic yarn is now squeaking on the needles. But I disliked bamboo needles from Chiaogoo. I still hold on to wooden Knitpros :) my opinion today is (and my advice to my past self would be) buy a pair of the needles, test them, if you love them go for a set. But ONLY if you can afford it without selling a kidney :D

You can read more of their story here: https://www.chiaogoo.com/about-us/
Westing Bridge LLC is a family-owned business that was started by four brothers. About1 Its ChiaoGoo brand knitting and crochet tools are designed and distributed in Troy, Michigan. Its manufacturing facility is based in Hangzhou, China.

The brothers were born and grew up in Linan, China, “The Bamboo Capital of China”. The grandfather was a bamboo craftsman who spent the majority of his life traveling from town to town with his bamboo tool kit, making household goods such as chairs, tables, mattress sheets, rice barrels, baskets and steamers. The father followed in grandfather’s footsteps and was able to build a workshop in the early 1980’s at the birth of the primitive free market in China. The workshop produced similar household goods, but the primary product was bamboo knitting needles.

Demand for the knitting needles originated with the mother. She is an excellent knitter and knit in order to keep her family warm during the long, cold winters. She would often knit extra items and sell them to neighbors and friends to make some extra money for her family of seven. She was the needle “tester” and frequently asked for special needles to meet her needs. She is the inspiration for the ChiaoGoo brand name, which means “highly skillful and crafty lady”.

In the 1990’s, the family decided to expand the product line and its production capacity in order to prepare for overseas distribution. In 2005, the four brothers made a milestone decision to incorporate the manufacturing part of the business, Hangzhou Westing Bridge LLC. At the same time, the youngest son established Westing Bridge LLC in Troy, MI for the marketing and distribution of the knitting and crochet tools outside of China.

Today, the business has expanded to become one of the most respected producers of knitting and crochet tools. ChiaoGoo products are now adored and enjoyed by worldwide customers, with retailers and distributors across the globe.

I find it interesting, and the engineering behind the brand is impressive. Not many brands have interchangeable tips in the smallest sizes. The cables are so good, theres a swivelling option. I have bought some different options in cables and tips and I am very impressed, comparing it to other brands, which I have also explored.

Hope you enjoy your needles and get many hours of happy knitting from them. Try to screw a screw with a bad screwdriver, a plastic cheap one. Then get a good one and try it. Feel the difference. Chop onions with a blunt knife vs a good, sharp one... This is the same.

I think they differentiate different sizes on purpose just to get you to buy more needles and accessories
