I have several areas as "Read Only", but parts of these areas contain discussion threads. Which level do you have to be to create a new thread there (like Techniques|Tools|Equipment|Yarn|Fiber)?

To elaborate on Anniekins reply, threads in the main boards (Knitting and Crochet Communication, Cross stitch Communication / Download, Sewing And Patchwork Communication, The Other Hand Works Communication / Download, Other DIY Communication) contain the already moderated threads. As in every thread you find in those boards were individually checked by volunteers to see if their contents were okay or not. Therefore its not possible to post directly in either of those places. Its actually emphasized in the names, having "reply only" written after each boards name. If you have read through any of the several guides about the workings of the forum (all are pinned on the top of this board), all point to the [https://www.pindiy.com/forum.php?gid=431]New Thread[/url] board, where all new threads that are not chit-chat, questions, or help requests must be posted. Its right on the top of the page layout and unlike the other boards, it has "new thread and reply" in the name. Just post whatever you want there, and the moderators will sort it out for you.
