Would love it if clothing sizes were stated in posted patterns.

I would love it if the size range the pattern includes would be stated in the post. I have bought so many patterns for clothing with my precious coins only to discover the clothing item does not include my size rendering it useless to me. Just offering some advice...thanks for reading.  :)

@Caro1970
Maybe we can add as a moderator note or we can write on the thread....

Maybe We can ask to users add size informations to posts :D

People can barely upload with the right name, author and section. I think that this would fall on the moderators to include and fix. Thats way too much work, sorry, just my opinion. You have ravelry  Details Reply Post time 2024-2-1 16:50

You have ravelry database for that sort of information ;)

Maybe the upload for form could be changed to have fields for name and author mandatory and size optional? Maybe this might help with having the correct information available to mods. Just a thought  Details Reply Post time 2024-2-8 03:37
I understand your point but....  Post time 2024-2-2 07:10
If ravelry has these information we MUST have too ... We will be ravelry s archive :))) that site will delete these patterns but we will not ... :))) We have good moderators we can add ... :)))  Post time 2024-2-2 07:09

What kind of size information are you looking for? Standardized sizes are different in every country. For example, a USA (4-6) is a UK (8-10). Are you looking for the sizes to be listed in the pattern as chest circumference in cm/inches? What if you need a different measurement thats not listed before you buy the pattern, such as length or armhole circumference?

Perhaps the first page of the pattern, where all the sizing information is listed, could be posted as an image on the post where the pattern in uploaded. Or you could use Ravelry, as previously suggested, before buying the pattern on this site.

Just whatever size the pattern states in the language the pattern is in.  Details Reply Post time 2024-2-2 04:22

Sizing is so different from one pattern to another…But may be you could see the problem from another point of view and just adapt the pattern you want to your own size ? You can find blogs  on the web that explain how to resize a pattern to your measurements, some of them with calculations sheets. It takes some time and practising but it is really worth because you will never more have to let go a pattern that you truly love. Swatching with thinner/thicker yarn with smaller/bigger needles can also achieve a smaller/bigger size, I hope you give a try to my suggestion and be able to use the patterns you bought !
