Embroidery - Latch hook

Does anyone still do embroidery work?  Or latch hook?  Were those just a thing of the past?  I really like venturing over to the cross-stitch section and seeing everybodys work.  I would love to see some embroidery and latch hook work, and maybe get inspired to do that again.

My mother taught me embroidery fifty some years ago. We used to get the iron on transfers with the patterns on them. Your post took me back to those memories with my mom. Thank you!

My grandmothers taught me embroidery and latch hook.  They are still very much a thing around my area.  Mary Maxim (a very large mail order craft retailer in Canada) still sells lots of latch hook and embroidery sets.  I dont do it much, but I still do every now and then whenever I need a break from knitting.
