Super Bulky
This is a top down intarsia(no floats) pattern worked flat. The 16 inch base pillow cover uses only knit and purl stitches with the exception of the heart which you can work in the bramble/bobble described in the pattern or stockinette stitch. If you knit the beard, nose and pom, to sew on, you will be using a loop/fur stitch, bobble, as well as increase and decrease stitches. You will need to be able to mattress stitch these on.
The last page of this pattern includes suggestions for adapting the pattern for a stockinette background for a 16, 18 or 20 inch pillow as well as moss stitch background for an 18 inch pillow. If you knit the 18 or 20 inch patterns, you will be using double strand yarn, so double the quantities needed (especially the background color). |
