Knit/Crochet Group

Does anyone have a group/guild that they have joined?  How did you find them.  How often do they meet?  Is it free form or set agendas?

I joined a "knit night" at my local library.  They had posted on their website that they were starting up, free to join, drop in format, meeting once a week.  Ive been with this group now for almost 8 years and have not regretted joining one bit. Ive gained a lovely group of friends in the bargain.  Its great to have someone help you find solutions to problems, opinions on colors or style, or just a general opinion on patterns even.  Almost every branch in my region has a knit night so its convenient to most community members.   Not everyone in my group knits, some crochet, and some use looms.  We dont mind other crafts hanging out with us either since the meetings are drop in and not moderated.

I find mine by searching online for "(nearby larger city name) knitting guild". Ive also done that for other crafts. Most libraries will have calendars showing groups that meet, or you can ask local librarians if any knit/crochet/spinning/whatever groups meet at any nearby libraries, and they can help you find the information.

Ive been the president of our guild for about 6 years now, we meet once a month, been in the guild since 1997 :-)

I have a couple I attend on Tuesdays. I met them through social media and met at the local leagues club. We have coffee and lunch and work on our current projects. We also show any items we have finished. It is a great group of ladies who love to create stuff by crocheting or knitting. We help each other out with anything craft related. It is great for me as I have a few mental illnesses and it is hard for me to leave the house and this is something that gets me out of the house.

Once a week, our Christian community meets for 1 1/2 hours.
Some knit, others crochet, another does cross-stitch and still others do handicrafts.
Much of what is made is for charity and is sold afterwards.
I really enjoy these gatherings and wouldnt want to miss a minute of them.
Its a wonderful opportunity to share real-life experiences and, if necessary, offer help with difficult projects.
