Using Pattern Maker

Hi - I downloaded a cross stitch pattern, both parts.  It is RAR when I click on the pattern part 1 it opens up Pattern Make, I click through the options and gets it to open PM.  It opens a blank pattern, I go to file, open, I can not find the pattern in my folder there, even though when I access the folder directly the pattern is there.  How do I get the pattern to load in PM?
