Im feeling bummed because I couldnt finish the project I focused on for two weeks. Not because I felt that I wasnt fast enough but because it takes up so much yarn. I ran out of the color of the yarn I was using for that project and I didnt want to order again because the yarn seller has terrible service to customers and last time, my yarn order came looking MESSY. It was tangled. And the package looked like it was stabbed so many times. I got mad because I ordered from them for like 3 or 4 times but they never get my orders well packed. I told the seller about this and said it wont happen again but it always happened. Maybe they got mad because I didnt give them 5 stars which they definitely did not deserve.

So anyway, I am like 75 percent done with my project but I could undo some parts and use another color for it. But I just look at my work and feel like its not well made and got discouraged on completing it. How can I start working on it again?

Sometimes we are our own worst critic.. what in our eyes is flawed and shows every little mistake, in reality looks beautiful. I used to pressure myself to finish things, but it took the joy out of a hobby I loved.. so I started to ask myself: what would you say to a stranger? Our inner voice is often sooo much harsher with us than we would ever dare be to another person, so first step, put the inner voice on the naughty step and see your project through the eyes of a friend. If you really love it, and really want the finished item, undo what needs to be be frogged and finish in any colour you like. If it isn’t something you really care about deeply anymore, frog it and start with something else. Or, here is a radical way to deal with it, I give you permission to declare it an official UFO or get rid of it! Sometimes, being given that permission, frees your mind to see what you really want to do.

You weren’t very lucky with that project at all and it can look not well made as you say because of the bad things that happened while you were trying to finish it. May be you could set aside your project and do another one, it can allow you then to take it back and look at it with fresh eyes. This will help you decide if you go on with another color or if you feel it should be redone with the skeins you already have or with new ones (from another seller !). Giving you some time could help you decide. Give yourself kindness too : you don’t have to finish projects as soon as possible and you can allow yourself to not finish a project if you feel so without feeling guilty. Have a good day !

Dont be discouraged.  Im not that neat (cross-stitch and knitting), but I find its very rewarding to finish a project. And if its just for Your satisfaction do the subtleties really matter?

If you are not happy with your project, give yourself permission to rip back and finish it up to your standards.
I like to think of it as "more crafting time for the same money!" :)

I cant continue just knowing I will be unhappy with the finished project. I do this for myself, and I want to be happy with my FO. Even if nobody sees te issue, I will. So I just take it of part of my craft, rip back, and make myself happy. More hours of knitting for the same price! :)

If the yarn is bad, send it back (not now that it has been used), but you sent perfectly good money her way and you got crappy yarn that in turn spoiled your enjoyement of your project.

Next time complain!

Life is too short to not enjoy every moment of your favourite hobby in your free time! If something is not working out, if you feel you wont wear it, just let it go, salvage the yarn and look for that next spark!
