No gold coins

Hello,

I post the messages, but I get no gold coins for it (as before 10 for 1 message in the topic). How long will it last?

I would much rather have a daily cap on total coins earned from replies than have a 5- or 10-minute wait between +10 gold from replies. I think most people can come and hang out at the forums for 20-60 minutes between other life responsibilities. I would rather be able to earn a few hundred coins in that time than have to spend an hour trying to time my replies every 5 minutes in order to get 100 coins.

If the site owner is losing money due to hosting costs, maybe rate limiting downloads or having a cap on the number of downloads (or mb) a user can make per day is the answer.

I think there are a lot of ways to fix whatever problems are happening behind the scenes, but this new 5- or 10-minute cap has to be really discouraging to new users. If this policy was in place when I joined, I dont think I would have stayed long. :(

Maybe Im not understanding the situation but heres how I see it.

Everyone has a limited amount of free time and users are choosing to spend it here on this site. To limit the amount of coins we can earn to maximum 60 per hour is like punishing the very people this site is for. Lets be honest; there is no other site on the web like this. Some users have been here for 10+ years and are still active. Most people are not going anywhere anytime soon. Some have even found friends and community here. If somebody chooses to spend their limited personal time by browsing the site, commenting, and downloading patterns, I dont feel they should be limited in this way. I dont know how the site owner earns money to keep the site running, but they will have no shortage of users any time soon. People will continue to spend time on the site as long as the changes arent too harsh.

Additionally, the rate at which users earn coins and the cost of downloading patterns creates a mini economy. If it becomes drastically more difficult to earn coins, users will hold on to their coins longer and only spend for really special patterns. It will eliminate people doing cute things like leaving red envelopes on their profiles and sending coins to friends or newcomers because they are so much harder to earn. It will be more difficult to afford patterns that were posted long ago (when coins were easier to earn), with prices above 200 coins. It is way too much work for mods to edit the price of previously posted patterns to equalize and make old pattern costs more fair. Users will want to post patterns at high costs to make up for this deficit, which in turn will make the problem worse...So, changing the rate at which coins can be earned messes up a lot of stuff at once!

Personally, I have been a member of the site for less than 6 months. There is a very warm and personable vibe from the community here. There is genuine human interaction that is difficult to find on any social media site. This community should be protected. But I have hardly been visiting the site since the 10 coins per 10 minute change. Im sure lots of other users feel the same. It would be so sad to see users leaving the site because of this change, because who has time to sit and comment every 10 minutes to maximize their gold coins? I predict it will discourage users, particularly new users, from settling here as a long-term active user and will end up backfiring on the site owner and what they are trying to achieve with this change.

I agree about the discouraging time set for earning gold coins. That said, i must say that I felt upset ultimately seeing some comments that have nothing to do with the thread in order to earn gold coins, like someone asking  for advices and various people answering with a “thank you for sharing this beautiful pattern”, it seems some few people paste the same answer without reading the thread just to get coins. Don’t misunderstand me though, I have nothing against this type of answer - that I also use - when it is done with honesty in the right context. I wonder if may be the restrictions have something to do about this behaviour.

I agree with you all,the 10 minute wait is ridiculous imbetween each gold coin you can earn.I’m finding myself on here less and less.I check back now and again to see if it’s been rectified.If it stays like this I wont bother to be honest

10 minutes only 1 time gives 10 gold coins... I am fighting him again ... I am trying convince him about it... :dizzy:

I said each reply and post must give gold coins ... How much? maybe is open to discuss but each time must give gold coins :@

I tried with my lv.1 fake account... System only want to 26 seconds for next reply ??????

I scroll down to the bottom of the thread, put my reply in the white open box, and click the "reply post" button under the box.
I am able to reply every 26 seconds- No problems with the time between replies. The issue is that you can only get 10GC every 10 minutes. I can reply 10 times in that 10 minutes, and only the first reply after the 10 minutes are up will give the 10GC.

Will this still be the case?

It is already difficult for newcomers to reach the now quite high prices, also in view of the fact that an additional 30 GC are deducted for a download.
But with this “innovation”, it seems almost impossible to me.
After all, most of us still have a job to do and cant be online 24/7.

just an update from me: today I got coins twice then no more coins when commenting patterns but I got coins at start and after the task.... I do not know if this can help our admins. Ill wait before downloading.

I commented on several designs and I selectively receive points, but most often I dont.
So its not just about the limit of 100 descriptions per day.
Something went wrong with collecting points and the limit of 100 descriptions per day
