I am a huge fan of Jan Houtmans charts. As a tribute to his work and in his memory, I picked borders from a variety of his samplers, and this is the result (the initials are mine):

WOW, nice work. O_O Looks like a book-worthy sample shot. Im still relatively new to the world of cross-stitch, and I must admit, I do not know who Jan Houtman is. His style looks Nordic, though... could you tell me more about him?

Thank you.
Jan Houtman was a Dutch designer. He passed away a few years ago. He was an avid stitcher, and most often (if not always) stitched his samplers without first drawing a chart. His samplers have, in the recent years, been made into charts, though. He has some amazing samplers (in my opinion). A few of his charts can be found on this site, but he has many more. Try a google search for "Jan Houtman cross stitch" - or go to the online shop called "European Cross Stitch", which I think is the shop that has the largest collection of his charts for sale...
